I have a relative JOHN WATERS BOUGHTON born 1820 in Surrey, England. His father Alexander Boughton born 1779 and mother Maria Meader born 1782

The story goes that Waters stemmed from an illegitimate birth - the mother's maiden name being Waters. We do not know if this was from a previous generation, but I am I a seeking the connection between Waters and Boughton from late 18th Century early 19th Century.
