She was married in Jan 11, 1904 to Frederick N. Thomas and had her first child Dorothy on Feb 28th the following month. She had two other children (Gilbert & Viola) by the end of 1907. It is possible that another child was born, but died shortly after birth.

Lydia looks to have died sometime in 1907-1909, leaving Frederick to look after the three children. His sister Jane Elizabeth traveled from England and resided with Frederick and the three children.

Sometime after 1909, the three children were apparently placed in orphanages and placed for adoption. The youngest, Viola, was adopted by Linton and Frankie Johnson from Washington Iowa who changed her last name and raised her as their own. Viola married Paul Eckstein and lived in Green Bay WI, passing in 1979 from an auto accident. They apparently had no children.
