Reid and Davis(Davies) family who emegrated to USA from Scotland and Wales 1868-1869

Journal by RuthMary

George Reid b. 1819 at Aberdeen Scotland and came to America abt 1869 with family.
Elizabeth Reid b. Sept. 20, 1845 at Carnarvonshire Wales. Her mother died when Elizabeth was 6 years old. Her father was Hugh Davis. She came to USA through Montreal Canada April 3, 1868. George and Elizabeth married 1n 1871 in Rockland, Maine and moved to Kansas where they settled and raised a family.
Elizabeth died March 24, 1897 at Lebo, Kansas leaving 4 sons and 2 daughters : James G. Reid,South Dakota,
Dr. James D. Reid, St. Louis Missouri, George Reid,Kansas, David who was 15 years old, Mrs. Adam Dixon, Hamilton Kansas, and Mrs. John Hugh Davis (Margaret), Orland, Maine.George died in Kansas June 3, 1899, when he drowned in a well at the Dixon's farm. He was a life member of the Established church of Scotland. In addition to his children in America, George had a daughter Mary who still resided in Scotland in 1899.
Elizabeth's father Hugh Davis lived with her until his death in October 1875 and is buried in Arvonia Cemetery. One thing I find confusing is that Hugh Davis is also the name of Margaret Reid Davis' father-in-law
father of her husband, John Hugh Davis. I am the grandaughter of David Reid Davis b. 1884 in SD (son of John and Margaret Davis. My mother was David's only child, Dorothy Elizabeth Davis. I believe John Hugh Davis, my
great grndfather came from Penmaenmawr Wales. He was in the paving stone business and his sons were quarrymen.
