John N.[1830] also had a brother Wm. A. Newell b.1834, enlisted in Civil War in Mecklenburg, N.C./remarried in Illinois, dob.changed to 1826, moved to Santa Barbara, California w/ wife and chldrn. I have established a communication with them.

Union, North Carolina 1850c lists: Mary Newell [maiden unk.] dob.1795, John 1831/ William A.1834/ Andrew 1837 & James 1838 who appeared in The Poor House records in 1860c Union, N.C.

I cannot find John N.'s father nor maiden name for mother, if Mary is his mother [?]

If anyone has information that you think may be enlightening to my search, Please respond- no matter how insignificant you think it is. I have been searching for 12 years to no avail.
