Looking for descendants of John Whitelaw of Stand who was executed for his faith in Edinburgh in 1683.

Query by Joy4ce

I was always told by my father that there were two extremes to our family. On the one hand I had an ancestor John Whitleaw of Stand who was a Covenantor and killed for his faith and on the other hand a male relative who was hung for sheep stealing. I am tryint go prove that I am a descendant of John Whitelaw of Stand, near Coatbridge in Scotland.

HI Joy4ce
I have a Whitelaw covenantor ancestor. My line goes through Kirk then Barr back to Whitelaw. I don't have every detail - it was handed down orally by the family.
