Bloods of Belper and the surrounding area
I am new to this forum but recognise a few members names from past communications. I have researched the Blood family name for almost thirty years mainly in the Duffield, Belper, Ripley and Heage area of Derbyshire. Like most of you I have amassed an incredible Blood archive, mine stretching back to the sixteenth century but ironically beyond the limits of my evidence based family tree. Like most I have the inevitable brick wall and cannot find what happened to Joseph Blood and Ellen the parents of Joseph Blood who was christened Belper St. Peter 22 Sep 1811. I know a Ellen Blood widow married a Joel Bowler widower 30th Dec 1816 Belper and if this is the above Ellen then I need to know when Joseph died. I can eliminate the Joseph who was buried 22 Oct 1811 also Belper St. Peter as I have his Will which confirms him as husband of Dorothy. Did he go to fight Napoleon ?. I have also eliminated him as the convict sentenced Derby 1826 as he was later part of a mass pardon after serving his seven year sentence on a prison hulk in the Thames. So if anyone out there can help I would be most grateful. If in turn I can assist anyone searching in the above geographical location in Derbyshire please get in touch. Regards, Blid
