Hi. I am researching The Carkett name. Have some problems as the name has been spelt different ways. Also I feel it may have started as Kirkett or something similar. I have some information of a Baptism in Plymouth Devon in 12721 at Charles Church. This information was given to me by a friend who has passed away. I have no written record for this event. I have family who lived in Tamerton Foliot Devon. after the above date.

Also Research names Connected to Carkett such as manley Rowe Judd.

Hi Bill

Is there specific information you are looking for as Carkett is a popular surname in Devon. Lots of parish records for Plymouth as you said. Earliest record I can see on a quick search:

John Carkiett, born 1585, baptised 1585, Anglican, Father Walter, Plymouth, St Andrew

Judd, Manley and Rowe surnames are also in the parish registers for that time.

Happy to look up some information for you but did you know that you can see most of these records on the Family Search site.

Hi Shellyb. Thanks for your reply.I use family search . Have a problem with Carkett's from Tamerton Foliot and Charles Church Plymouth.Iwas given information on my family but no hard copies ,sadly the person has passed away so I have dates but no proof.
