I am from Gatineau, Quebec, Canada and my link to Alfred Lyons is through his son Wilfrid Lyons born in 1893 whom married Zepherina Gibeau in Thurso, Quebec, Canada 1918.

I have just received Alfred's birth certificate (pdf copy) confirming he was born on November 8, 1872 in Whitechapel, Middlesex, UK from Alfred Lyons and Johanna Hart. I have also a copy of Johanna Hart 2nd marriage certificate with Matthew Daly in 1876 and her death certificate (1882). However, no luck yet in finding her first marriage certificate with Alfred Lyons Sr. Have you been able to find more information on your side?

I have the copy of Johanna's first marriage certificate.

Alfred was also my great-grand-father and Wilfred was my grand-father. My Mother Colette has told me that Wilfred had 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Somehow we are related and I am not sure how. But would like to know. I am trying to find more info on my grand-father and maybe this is a good start. My french in writing would not be a good choice....very terrible.

I'll be glad if I can be of some help. The information your mother gave you is right. Alfred and Cordelie Leduc had 9 children (5 boys and 4 girls). Wilfrid is the older. He was born in 1893. The second child was Ernest, then Anna, Marie-Anne, Henri, Herbert John, Maggie, Dora and Joseph Thomas-Albert. I'm a descendant of Henri. He was my grandfather. Your parents got married on August 5th, 1918 in Thurso (St-Jean-L'Évangéliste).

My parents got married June 30,1956 Colette (Lyons) and Roger Bedard. Thank you so much for the info. Now i need to find more info and were to find it. My mother knew your grand-father Henri very well. That was her uncle. Very interesting. If you don"t mind, can I ask for more help from you when needed?

Bonjour Lyne. Mom and Dad are still here but with health issues. Sorry to hear about your father. I am trying to do Mom family tree because she is talking about her past allot. I was able to do my Dad family tree with the help from a web site "Voyer & Bedard" which is no longer available. I find some of the web tools are to expensive and I am not sure what info ( if any ) would be useful. I am not sure what question to ask you for but any or all info would be appreciated. It would not be fair to received this at no cost, after you did most of the work in finding the information. So how do I get more information from you and what would be the cost in doing so. I'm sorry to hear about your mom and dad health. I'll be more than happy to do your mom's family tree. You must understand that her dad (Alfred) was the first to arrive to Canada. So, there family tree is harder to do since we have to look at British Archives. I have information about the families of your mother's brothers and sisters and some information about her dad's parents (wedding and death) but I'm still looking for Alfred's birth certificate. Of course, I have all the documents to support my research. Would you have by any chance pictures of your mom's family and perhaps pictures of her grandparents,aunt and uncle. I'll make a table of the information I have so it is gone be easier to choice what you are interested in.
