Hi Clare,
sorry I do not have any information on William NEWTON but Sarah Selina's brother Henry John [1835 - 1902] came to Australia with his wife Sarah nee ALFORD. Henry (20) and Sarah CONDUIT (25) arrived on the ship BALANGUITH on January 17th 1857 into the port of Belfast now Port Fairy, Victoria. I have quite a bit of this Conduit family as I have researched it for my friend.
Cheers Marg

Hi Marg
I have done quite a lot of research on the CONDUIT family with the help of Diane Essex Clark in Australia. We have been stuck on Sarah Selina's father John CONDUIT(1812) but I think we have now resolved that unless you found out any other information on him.
Thanks
Clare

Hi Clare,

I just came across this post by accident and I see that I must have given you information on the Conduit family in the past. I don't remember doing so, but if it was a few years ago then it is worth while going to my new site http://dianefentontree.tribalpages.com and requesting an invitation. In recent years we have found a lot of new information, on the Conduit family, including 2 previously unknown male children for Henry and Sarah. One one else has mentioned them, but they are listed on the birth records of Emma 1858 and Henry John 1860. I have also obtained a lot of BDMs and parish record copies for some of the English ancestors, including your Sarah Selina (aka Selina Sarah). We may even have solved the problem of John's baptism (1812) and parents. We have definately proved that they were not William Cundick and Ann Spicer, as many have.
As for William Newton, please send me your email address off line if you can or through my Tribalpages tree and I will give you the email address for Jean Belmont. William was her gt grandfather. I know he was born b. 23 Nov 1852 Great Wishford, Wilts, m. 23 Mar 1876 Parish Church Woodford Wilts and d. 2nd Qtr 1906 Salisbury Reg District. Jean is bound to have a lot more information on him.

Cheers,
Diane E-C
