Hi my name is Christina Wainohu nee Teohaere.Werepu Kento was my great, great,great grandfater on my dad's side.Wiremu Kento Peachey was born to William Kento, a dutchman whaler who drowned at Waiapu river on the east coast NZ in 1849 see (a man of many parts), mother's name Ani Tepatu.
Captain James Peachy adopted Wiremu the eldest son of 2 boys, I come from Werepu who was his younger brother, who also drowned on 13 November 1909. Ani Tepatu later married a David Bristow. I'm guessing Wiremu and Werepu were only toddlers when their father died making them born somewhere in the 1840's.
