Melvilles in Fife & Liverpool

Journal by gillnewell

I have traced my great grandfather back to Liverpool, where he married 1890/1, born in Fife, Scotland circa 1871. Family legend says the Melvilles came from France to Scotland 16th century, possible Hugenots escaping Catholic persecution.

If you give a little more detail such as your Grandparents names etc, then we might be able to trace them in the census records

I have lots of census details etc but just need the time to piece the relevant families together. I'm interested in why they went to Liverpool from Fife as several related families seem to have decamped at the same time.
