Mirams Family - Australian Connection

Journal by AussieMirams

Hi, I came across his site when I was doing my research on Ancestory.com for my family "Mirams" I kept coming up with so much information which has led me to New Zealand, who new!

My Great Grand Uncle was Samuel Haywood Mirams, who left Australia travelling on the Aldinga to Dunedin, New Zealand, to work for Purchas and Swyer who were Architect and Engineers for the town of Dunedin. Samuel Haywood Mirams was born on 28 August 1837 in Minster, on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, England, the son of Elizabeth Cole and Rev. James Mirams who immigrated to Australia in July 1857 aboard the Norfolk travelling with their 7 children. The Rev. James Mirams was posted at the Congretional Church, Collins Street, Melbourne. The Rev. James Miram had 7 Children: Samuel, Edward, Elizabeth, James, John, Joseph, William.

Samuel Haywood Miram's wife = Maltilda Phillippa Eastgate.

Samuel & Maltilda's Children:

Annie Elizabeth, Sydney Thorpe, Henry Haywood, Sam Phillip, Ernest Joseph, Leslie Haywood, Clara Adelaide, Charles Haywood, Gilbert Haywood, Myra Gertrude, Gladys Haywood.

Samuel's brother James Mirams - His son is Edgar Haggar Mirams
Edgar Haggar Mirams - His son is Albert William Hansen Mirams
Albert William Hansen Mirams - His son is Albert Victor Mirams, my Dad. WOW! Then the family becomes a little tricky.

So I say hi to those who are my long lost family and who are looking for family connections, I would love to hear from you, please drop me a line bluesky24@live.com.au.

Bye for now.
