On Sunday I asked a question about a great-grandfather. I wish to thank the two people who so kindly responded. Now I am searching for some members of the Cameron family, who went to Adelaide in South Australia. One of them, Archibald John (or Joseph)
Cameron, was born in May 1886. I should like to find his parents. And I should also like to know if there are two Archibald Camerons, born on the same date, or whether this is a mistake.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much indeed.
It is very confusing.
Archibald Cameron was my grandfather, though I only met him once.
He was in the mounted police, I believe.
I understood he was born in Adelaide in May 1886, but that his second name was Joseph.
This is where it becomes difficult to know who is which and which is who.
Best wishes
Heather
Hannah Sophia Cameron known as 'Annie' died on 10 August 1933 at a private hospital in St. Peters, Adelaide
Her death notice states she was from Jamestown
It appears the Archibald John CAMERON born 20 May 1886 in Adelaide may have died six months after birth.
Name: Archibald John CAMERON.
Died: 30 November 1886.
Place: Adelaide, South Australia.
Age: 06 months.
Father: John CAMERON.
Ref: Registry of Deaths, South Australia. Book 159. Page 140.
Need a few more details to assist track Archibald through the records.
Name of wife and any children would be a good starting point.
I just saw your post and that you mentioned having 2 children with the same name. I have this in many of my families parents did this as a way of memorial to a child that had died . Child mortality was very high in 1700-1800 in one of my families there are 3 sons with the same name due too 2 children dying and one postnatal death of the mother and the new wife named her first son after the father. As you said confusing. Good luck I have been doing this for over 20 years.
