My PHILIP connection is from my mother.Her mother was a Philip.

William Philip and wife Caroline(Lennie)emigrated to New Zealand in 1879 with 9 children.They had one more in N.Z. Margaret, my grandmother.
I have information on some of the Philip's in N.Z.and information on my mother's father who was Alfred William Ott.

Hi.
I am also descended from William and Caroline - my G grandfather was William, m Elizabeth Alexander (second wife). My grandfather was Arthur Lennie.
I have heard the Ott name before - connected very vaguely to the sister of the first William, apparently she came out here but no one seems to have located her. I thought it was Margaret. Will have to go back through my files again.

Hello lfraser,I'm sorry if I have already responded to your posting of 24/4/2011.We are both from William Philip and Caroline(Lennie)The Ott name was my grandfathers surname.He married Margaret Philip youngest daughter of William and Caroline.They had two children George and Rita(my Mum)She married Gordon Wilson.They lived in Wellsford,North Auckland.Would you like to correspond?

Do you know if William Philip had a sister Henrietta. She married Henry McPherson in Scoon, Perthshire, Scotland in February1863. They immigrated out here in 1865 and lived in Clive, Hawkes Bay. Henrietta's parents were John and Margret Philip. Margret's maiden name was Keith.

Hi Lyntm,I have no Henrietta as a sister to William.William was originally from Monikie,Angus,Scotland.Then moved to Liverpool where he met Caroline.They emigrated to N.Z.
