my grandma was mabel thomas.her mom and dad was isabelle and john henry.nicholas sr. would be her great great grandfater.i have it written down.how does your ancestry come in?

My Nicholas Barron was born in Germany about 1731 and died in Pennsylvania in 1785. The ancestry continues through his son Nicholas Jr, through his son Henry (wife: Mary Elizabeth Miller) through his son Hiram, through his son William Henry, through his daughter Melva Fern. That would make Nicholas Barron my fifth great grandfather. Any relation to the Nicholas Barron you are talking about?

I have Nicholas Jr marrying Rachel Hauser, too. What I am trying to do is......1. Find any information about Nicholas Sr.'s wife Catharina Christina (no maiden name). Supposedly he married her in Philadelphia but I cannot confirm that. 2. Where in Germany is he from and do you know of anyone that has researched in German records for Nicholas Sr.?

On a more recent note (LOL!!) I have all sorts of relatives in Somerset and Cambria counties. My dad was born in Riverside, outside Johnstown and my first cousin Donell and her husband Ron Jacoby live in Conemaugh with their family and grandchildren. My 2nd cousin Tom Barron used to own some big greenhouse complex near Davidsville I think until it was torn down because of floor control or something. Lots of Barrons still in Somerset county, aren't there?

I try to get back to the Barron Reunion held in Somerset every couple of years if I can make it from Alaska. It is so blooming hot down there that time of August. I do like the fresh corn and tomatoes, though. Have you ever been to any of the reunions?

I have heard of the tale of Rachel Hauser being kidnapped and taken to Detroit as an indian captive. Can you tell me what you know of the kidnapping? Who are Morrison Cove indians? Is there any historical source about this, or is it just a tale told in the family?

No thats not a tale.My mom goes to the Henry reunion held in Aug.John Henry has all that info.I will have her see if he will e mail info.He has an awlfl lot.I trid to copy a few things but it was copywrited what I found and my son cleaned out the PC so I lost alot of it.Why dont you get a myspace and then we could im sometime.Theres books on Rockwood I want to get one.It has info in book 2.Did you get my address?It sid theyd E mail it.By the way mess.1 was me .
