Bethanah separated from his first wife, Mary. This was cause for him to be disowned by the Quakers and he disappears from their records.
His second wife was named Morning (Mourning?), by whom he had four sons, Joshua (1750-1815), Bethany, William and Lyle. These are named in his will. No daughters are named. In the will his name is spelled Bethany Haynes. It is dated 4 June 1805 and "returned" January 1806 in Surrey County, North Carolina.
It is not known if Bethany and Morning were legally married as there is no record of their marriage or of a divorce from Mary. His will refers to Morning as his wife (taken from the link at his name)
