Looking for information on James Swarthout (1813-1847) of New York who married Rhoda Reynolds (1812-1869)also of New York in 1832. They had Lewis (1833-1875), Mary (1839), Andrew (1841), Elutica (1844-1924) and Phebe Ann (1846).Rhoda eventually moved with her children to Michigan shortly after James' death in 1847

I am descended from Lewis Swarthout and have found info on all of his children and their families leading up to my grandfather. I have also found Rhoda Reynolds' ancestry but am unable to find any info on James' parentage.

I have been told that my James descends from James A Swarthout, son of Barnardus Swarthout and Mary Halstead, but I cannot find any records that confirm that. I have looked in the book Swarthout Chronicles and have found absolutely no reference to James or his children at all

I would really love to have a more complete lineage and know exactly where/how my ancestors fall into the Swarthout Line as I have seen the Swarthout line traced back to the 1600's.
