Hugh Byrd was born in Lancaster Cty, SC, married Mildred Gooch, and died in Highlandhome, Crenshaw Cty, AL. There is much discussion regarding who his father was. Some believe that he was John Bird (1732-1809) and mother was Catherine King. Others say that John Bird and Catherine King were indeed married but there is no documentation that Hugh was one of their children.

Iam searching for his father and grandfather. He was born in Cumberland Cty, VA where he married Clementina Carrington. Later, the family moved to Uniontown, Perry Cty, AL. I have the Carrington line back to Barbados.
