This was his place of business. An Auctioneer and later a furniture warehouse and factory.

1864 (2) Samuel Fitz Henry, the auctioneer and furniture warehouse merchant. Died as a result of an accident at Richmond House, Cappoquin, where he was conducting an auction, on 28th. October 1864. (Born c1799) His body was taken back to his home in the No. 4 Little George Street Waterford and was buried at the new Protestant Cemetery, John's Hill, Waterford.

1864 William Fitz Henry born Abt. 1844, the son of Samuel Fitz Henry (c.1799-1864), Took over the furniture warehouses at 36 King Street, Waterford, after the death of his father.

1883 Mary Anne Fitz Henry, 1806 to 23 Sep 1883, the wife of Samuel Fitz Henry (1799 to 1864) was also buried at the new Protestant Cemetery, John's Hill, Waterford in the same plot as Samuel.

"After a protracted illness borne with courage Mary Anne Fitz Henry, relict of Samuel Fitz Henry 1799-1864 was interred at the cemetery John's Hill attended by the Reverend Garde Price and the Reverend Wm. Crooke DD. formerly of Waterford and presently Limerick."

(3) Robert Fitz Henry Methodist minister later a Shopkeeper in Kilkenny, Ireland.

Extract from ?Hill's Arrangements 1862". Believed to be the Wesleyan/Methodist churches records of postings of their ministers.

Robert Fitz Henry ministered in the following towns:

1857 Dungannon
1858 Longford
1859 Wexford
1860 Londonderry
1861 Donegal

It would appear that approximately twelve months was spent at each location between 1857 and 1861.

A photograph done by R & A Stubbs, late Werner Artist, of 39 Grafton St., Dublin. Photograph framed and inscribed by hand on the back 2 July 1861 - 1911. It would appear that the photograph was taken to commemorate their 50th wedding anniversary.

1911 The Census of AD. 1911. Conducted on Sunday night 2nd April 1911.

The occupants of Villiars Road, in the Rathmines / Rathgar area. Return No 6 form B 12, were:

Robert Fitz Henry Head of the family, Methodist, could read and write, age 74, born at Kilkenny. Retired from business, married 49 years, total children 10, 6 surviving.

"Kate" Catherine Fitz Henry Wife Nee Laird, Methodist, could read and write, age 79, born at Leitrim. Married 49 years, total children 10, 6 surviving.

Maud Matilda Fitz Henry Daughter, Methodist, could read and write, age 34, born at Donegal, single.

Charlotte Matilda Fitz Henry Sister of Robert, Methodist, age 66, single, born at Wexford.

Mary Brady, Roman Catholic, could read and write, age 18, Domestic Servant, single, born at Dublin.

1867 Elizabeth Fitz Henry. Married Samuel Foster on the 18th September 1867 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Waterford. They were married by the Reverend E. M. Banks, who was the bride?s uncle. That is Rev. E. M. Banks a brother of Mary Anne Banks, wife of Samuel Fitz Henry (1799-1864).

"Samuel Foster Esq. Abbeyleix to Elizabeth, eldest daughter of the late Samuel Fitz Henry Esq. of Waterford."

1886 William Albert Fitz Henry MA. (1862-1911) Solicitor. See known title of book written by him also see details of inquest after he drowned in the Grand Canal near Baggot St Bridge, Dublin on 19 Sep 1911.

Family legend talks of some political involvement in Albert?s drowning in the Grand Canal near Baggot St Bridge, Dublin on 19 Sep 1911. However, this was never established at the Inquest.

(Married Jeannie Evans. Not sure that this is correct information. Check it! "Married On 7th July 1886, by special license, at the residence of Mrs. Carson, at Fairfield, in Rathgar, Dublin, William Albert Fitz Henry M.A., to Jeannie eldest daughter of the Reverend Henry Evans DD.")

His academic achievements included the following honours:-

"First Honor man and First Class Exhibitioner" at Bachelor of Arts, examinations.

"First Honor man and Special Gold Medallist" at Master of Arts, examinations.

"A Late Holder Of Studentship."

"Late university examiner in Mental and Moral Science as well as Political Philosophy."

"Late Barrington lecturer on Political Economy. At both Dublin and Belfast."

Both a Solicitor and a Barrister.

1865 (4) Samuel ?Jack? Fitz Henry born Drumshambo, County Leitrim 1865, died Cape Town South Africa 1929, married to Frances Marrion Row in December 1901.

1903 (5) John Laird Fitz Henry born Cape Town South Africa in 1903, died Johannesburg in 1959, married Katy Annetta Leviny in Cape Town November 1934.

1942 (6) John Laird Fitz Henry born Johannesburg South Africa 1942, Married Elaine Amber Lilienfeld April 1971.

1975 (7) John Laird Fitz Henry born Johannesburg South Africa 1975, Married Ursula Anderson, Johannesburg December 2007.
