Amos Bays(1803)>Amos Bays(1853-1860)>Oscar Bays(1885)

Looking for anyone with info on this family line. Looking for photos, et. I have info to share.

I have wondered if there is more than 1 Amos Bays Jr. being born 1853-1860 in KY because I have located about 7 marriages....Susan Chandler, Mary Catherine Branham, Esther Gillum/Gilliam/Gillen**, Sarah Emma Salyer*, Lavina Williams and Lucinda Remey/Raney.(* I have personal knowledge these 2 wives were married to the same Amos Bays Jr, Esther being my direct line.) He was a shoe maker and died as a result of a dispute over prices with William Lyons, another shoemaker. He was shot and died a couple of years later due to his wounds. He died in Carter County, KY.

Amos Sr b-1803 VA, had 2 wives, Mary Vance and Sarah Prater Jordan* or Sarah Jordan Prater....* my line.He died in Morgan Co, KY in 1858.

Oscar Clay Bays married 1) Delphia Brown Adams, widow of Smith Adams of Morgan, Magoffin and Perry Counties in KY. She had no children with Smith Adams but she had several with Oscar Bays. He would leave for several months or years at a time and then return...seems like he could have had more than one family. I am trying to find if he re-married? I found a census record with an Oscar Bays with a Lou Bays and family in Elliot Co, KY. Not sure if this is the same Oscar Bays

Looking for a Jordan who married Sarah Prater in Va or Ky maybe Absolom Jordan?

I am looking for information on the 2nd wife of my gggrandfather, Amos Bays, Sr b-1803 in Pittsylvania County VA. His first wife was Mary Vance and they had about 12 children. He later married Sarah Prater Jordan in 1853 in Johnson County, Ky. They had 3 children, Amos Jr., Henry and Amanda J. Amos Sr. was killed in 1858 in Morgan County, KY. She shows up on the 1860 Magoffin County KY Census as a washer woman with her 3 children. After that, I have not been able to find her or the children, except, Amos Jr. who is my direct line.

I do not know who Sarah Prater married first and whether they had any children. His name was Jordan and perhaps he was married before. I was searching for an Absolam Jordan who was married previously and I did find a marriage record for Sarah Prater and Absolem Jordan. I am unable to get my hands on it right now but, I think it was about 1840.

On the marriage record for Amos Bays and Sarah (Prater) Jordan, it says that Amos is a widower and she is also a widow.

So, I am looking for a Prater family that moved from VA to KY with a daughter, Sarah and a Jordan family who was in Kentucky by 1840 and he remarried or married a Sarah Prater.
