My husband's uncle way back was a prisoner on a ship in Plymouth Harbor, then apparently sent to America as an indentured servant. How can I find info on why he was a prisoner?

His name was Thomas Sparks, born 21 Jan 1615 in Fareham Parish, Hampton, England and died 08 Sept 1673 in Stepney, Middlesex, England. He was aboard the prison hulk Captivity. He arrived in Virginia in 1638. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Family surnames

Bucholz--mostly from Hanover Germany; Neely (Neeley, Neligh); Davi(d)son; Parker; Stamper; Lee; Sparks; Cannady (Kennedy); Brock; Callahan; Begley; Sizemore; Napier; Ferrell; Weiker; Lewis; Boone; Washington; Windsor; Moytoy; Wedeking; Slayden (Slayton); the Capetians and a host of others obviously. Some of our famous relatives are Robert E Lee, Meriwether Lewis, Daniel Boone, Queen Elizabeth, Pocahontas, William Stone, George Washington and others I can't think of right now. Love doing family history and love collaborating with others. I am just about done with my maternal grandparents, Floyd Bucholz and Elma Mable Davison and their kids and grandkids. Next step is putting that chapter in story form in a book and then on to another side. All communication is welcome and I will respond. Thank you.
