Where were the following Cross children born, and who were their parents? Osmond (? ? before 1824), Samuel (1765 ? 1840), Joseph (1767 ? 1824), Elizabeth (1770 ? 1844).
I have the least information about Osmond. In the Will of his brother Joseph (1824), he is referred to as the late brother of Joseph. The Will of Joseph Cross left money to the two children of his brother Osmond. Their names were John and Elizabeth Cross. I have found the Will of John Osmond Cross, proved in London, 23/7/1845. The executor of the Will is Thomas Hebditch (builder of Tabernacle Walk, Lambeth), husband of Elizabeth Hebditch, who I believe is the sister of John Osmond.
The only plausible wedding found for Osmond Cross is to Jane Hebditch on 22 July 1787 at Sherbourne, Dorset, the daughter of Thomas Hebditch and Sarah. I can find no possible matches for his death.
The IGI has a reference for John Osmond Cross. Birth 7TH of October 1794, christened 26th of July 1824, St Giles Cripplegate: Parents; Osmond/Jane. This Jane could be the Joan Hebditch of Sherbourne, given in the wedding of Osmond Cross above.
Elizabeth Hebditch (nee Cross) was born about 1790 in Bruton, Somerset; and died September 1853, St Luke Finsbury.

Joseph Cross died at Evercreech Somerset , and was buried in St Peter, Evercreech on the 16th of July 1824. He married Mary Boyce of Evercreech, at St Peter on the 8th of June 1794. Joseph was of St Luke, Old St Middlesex at the time of his wedding .From his marriage, and death records, I believe he was born in approximately 1767.

From details in his extensive Will, he had 2 brothers; Osmond and Samuel, and a sister Elizabeth, who married Thomas Robins of Bruton. His Will also names a surviving uncle, James Cross, and sister-inlaw; Maria Gane, as well as a bequest to the Bruton Church (Parish of Evercreech).
Joseph Cross must have owned the freehold of his residence as he left it to Hannah Burnoll, wife of Edward Burnoll, Baker of Wells.
Also I give and bequeath unto my brother Samuel Cross of Lambeth in the County of Surrey, Timber Merchant, and my good friends Richard Curll of Sutton Street Soho, in the County of Middlesex, wheel manufacturer, and Philip Upstone of Sutton Street Soho, wheel manufacturer the sum of four hundred pounds sterling upon
Samuel Cross was married on the 4th of December 1797 in Saint Giles, Cripplegate, London to Rachel Elmes of Church Knowle, Dorset. Samuel and Rachel had 9 children, all born in London/Surrey. Samuel died on the 29th of November 1840 in Swanage Dorset. Once again his marriage and death details suggest he was born about 1765.
Samuel also left an extensive Will. As he was the executor of his brother Josephs? Will, there is mention of investments and chattels left to the children of Samuel, his brother Osmonds? children, Elizabeth and John, and Mrs Gane.
Apart from the large amount of money, chattels and property left to his family, he made the following interesting bequests:
Rachel Peryer Cross: ?for a keepsake and may she read it to profit in Harvey?s meditations among the toombs?

- Samuel Job Cross: 2 volumes of ?Preestly Bible?

- Ann Eliza Cross: my book of psalms for a keepsake.

- Thomas Elmes Cross (son): rest of furniture to the benefit of him and sister ?M.P.Cross?.

- Rachel Ann Cross: 2 volumes of life of Mrs Fletcher and my hymn book
- Samuel (son): pair of pictures that was his late uncle?s the Sailors Farewell and Soldiers Return,

Elizabeth Cross died on the 13th of May 1847 at 5 Tabernacle Road, Finsbury, Middlesex (The home of her niece Elizabeth Hebditch). Her death Certificate states that she was the Widow of Charles Robins, a Gentleman. The Informant was Thomas Hebditch, who was present at the death. I can find no records of her marriage to Thomas or Charles Robins. Her age at death infers that she was born about 1770.
Her Will, which was proved on the 16th of August 1847 gives the executor as Thomas Hebditch (husband of her niece Elizabeth Hebditch).
Charles (Thomas) Robins died on the 4th of May 1846, at Bruton, Somerset. Death details inferring he was born about 1768. His Death Certificate states that he was formerley the Superintendant of a Silk Factory. His Will confirms that he married Elizabeth Cross of Bruton. Perhaps his full name was Thomas Charles Robins. The Will leaves some money to his friend, William Skinner of Bruton, a Minister.

It would appear that Charles and Elizabeth did not have any children, as there was no mention of them in either of their Wills.
There seems to be other connections of the Hebditch and Cross families. Samuel Cross refers to a Mr Hebditch, to whom he had lent money in his own Will (1840 Swanage).

A Baptism at the Union Chapel Bruton for, "Elizabeth Robins Hebditch" - birth -8/3/1827, Baptism 3/9/1827. Father was Thomas Hebditch, and mother Elizabeth Cross. (In a footnote - maiden name Cross; born in Mill St, Lambeth Walk, in the Parish of St Marys', Lambeth, in the County of Surrey).
When one considers the origin of this family it is difficult to imagine a particular County as their birth place, however the trail continually leads back to London, as highlighted by the following time line.

24/8/1821 - Notice is hereby given, that, Mr. Joseph Cross, of Narrow-Wall, Lambeth, in the County of Surrey, Timber-Merchant, has this day declined the said business in favour of his brother, Samuel Cross; and that all debts due to and owing by the said Joseph Cross will be settled by the said Samuel Cross.
