My Rowley Research Notes

My name is Patricia (Rowley) Wilson. I am trying to research my family heritage for my grandchildren and great grandchildren to have in the future. My family lineage that I have so far is as follows.

Paternal Grandmother: Mary Alberta Firor-Her mom and dad were Edward W. Firor and Alberta Jane (McGee) Firor. Born in MD., married Guy Amos Rowley in MD. They later moved to Delhart, TX. My grandmother's parents both died when she was very young, and she was then living with relatives by the name of Fix. I am currently trying to trace that family lineage as well. My grandfather-Guy Amos Rowley and his wife and family eventually moved to Delhart, TX-there residing for many years. There is a family cemetery plot, that I acquired from my father-Guy Harold Rowley-and it has some markers left standing, but there are children and family members burried there that have no markers, and I am still doing the research to have them marked.

I am trying to piece together the family lineage, as well as any military service they may have had, so as to be able to prove my applications for the GDAR-and for other historical purposes. At one time, our family farm was a battlefield during the Civil War. The farm is gone, and that area is now a national monument for the battle of Fredricksburg.

In Texas my great grandfather Smith, was a land asseyer--and he asseyed the property value for the XIT ranch, which still exists to this day.

I have a cousin who has most of the information about the Rowley line, but our big obstacle is the McGee connection to this lineage. I know the Firor partly-but my great grandmother remains a mystery. We are trying to connect the dots for our indian heritage, that is just as much a mystery as anything.

I hope to add to this as information turns up. If anyone who reads this has any information that matches my lineage, I would be greatful for any amount of information.
