1.Thomas Avery Averett was born 8 Jun 1697 in Charles parish, York County, VA to James and Catherine Avery. He married Sarah Mary Tanner about 1722 in VA. They had 10 children (that I have found): Elizabeth, James Samuel, Thomas Henry, Henry, William, Matthew, Isham, Sarah, John, and Rhomes Averett.
2. James Samuel/Samuel James Averett is the one that I am interested in, being that I descend from him.
James Averett, Sr. was born 11 Dec 1723, married about 1763 to Elizabeth
uno, died 5 Mar 1818-1820 in VA. This couple had 8 children. Zachariah Averett was 4th child born to them. I descend from him.
3. Zachariah Averett born 4 Nov 1767 Halifax Co., VA, married Mary Polly Williams Tindall in 1792, died 24 Nov 1843 in Clay County MO. This couple had 10 children.
4. Howard was their first born, and I descend from him. Howard was born 24 Oct 1793 in VA, married Sarah Ann Waltrip in 1815, died 10 Apr 1877 in MO. This couple had 11 children. Howard was an ordained Baptist preacher, and he and his father, Zachariah began the Christ Church in Clay County, MO.

I can not seem to get any farther back that Thomas Avery Averett. Does anyone have who his parents were and where he came from? I've been told the Averett/Everett line in Irish. Please you can email me directly if you like. retiredgophers@yahoo.com
