Looking for: JOHN WILLIAM TAIT married to EVELYN TAIT. Possibly his brother ALLEN TAIT died leaving behind a daughter by the name of EVELYN PHYLLIS TAIT who they looked after. My Grandmother EVELYN PHYLLIS TAIT was brought up in WAIROA, HAWKES BAY.

EVELYN PHYLLIS TAIT went to School at a nearby Catholic Convent. Her Mother's name may have been MARY SMITH, but no one is quite sure. I cannot find any records at all. I hope you can help. Her Father's name ALLEN TAIT.
I think she may have been adopted by an Aunt or Uncle and I think there may be some links to Maori 'TAIT', as her daughter ELLEN MARY TOOMEY was contacted in 2012 by a branch of the family - may have been part of Maori Land Claim. No one came back to follow this up.

SHAW Abraham married to SARAH BURTENSHAW 14th April 1763 in Warnham, Sussex

I cannot find where ABRAHAM SHAW was born.

RICHARD SHAW - Abraham's son christened 15/07/1770 christened in Bolney Sussex, who later married HETTY DURRANT 16/04/1798 in Ringmer, Sussex.

There are two branches of Shaws - one from Abraham Shaw, the other from THOMAS SHAW who marred MARY NAYLARD in Nuthurst, Sussex, Engand.

Both these families came together when my great, great, grandparents ELIHU SHAW (son of JOHN SHAW), he was a second cousin, employed as a Gardener in the Estate of RICHARD SHAW (Abraham Shaw's son?), and eloped with their daughter MARIA HELEN SHAW. I believe Richard Shaw was a large landowner, timber etc.

Any details or gaps that can be filled in this story, would be wonderful.
