My mother is Pakimaero WAITAI, the youngest of 17 and the only one living. Her parents were Ware Pukenamu WAITAI and Miriama Te Hei HEKETA. My granfather was born 12th September 1877, unsure where.
His father was Waitai HOHEPA of Masterton

As far as we know Grandad was from Te Ore Ore, Masterton, and went to school at Papawai before leaving for Te Aute College. Date of entry noted as 5th February 1890.

I would be grateful for any information/links to the WAITAI, HOHEPA,
TE PU names of my grandad. I know we go north from around Hokianga to Te Hapua, just not sure how.
