immigration to Victoria
Martin and Anton, along with their mother Catharina, left Hamburg in August 1854. Their father had died some years earlier. Catharina died somewhere off the Cape of Good Hope and was buried at sea. Part of the Victorian family changed their name to Williams during World War 1. Other Zahnleiter`s went to America, we can find a record of Emma, Katharina and a Herman Zahnleiter emigrating to the US between 1875 and 1888.
Johann Georg Zahnleiter was born 1 on 9 Aug 1788 in Kafertal, Baden, Germany. He died 2 before 1854 in Germany. He married Catharina Neuhauser about 9 Feb 1810 in Germany.

Catharina Neuhauser was born about 1787 in Baden, Germany. She died 1 in 1854 in Off Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. She married Johann Georg Zahnleiter about 9 Feb 1810 in Germany.

Catharina, along with her sons, Martin and Anton & their families, left Hamburg in August 1854 to sail to Australia. Catharina died somewhere off the Cape of Good Hope and was buried at sea.

Johann "Phillip" Zahnleiter was born 1 on 16 Apr 1825 in Kafertal, Baden, Germany. He died 2 in 1882 in Bingara, New South Wales, Australia. He married Mary Ann Clarkson on 28 Apr 1851 in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
Phillip arrived in Adelaide, Australia in 1850. He was a mason of Kaferthal. He left Hamburg on the 15 June 1850 and after 5 months at sea arrived at Port Adelaide, Australia on 14 October 1850.
Philip, while on a journey from Kilcoy to Kilkivan in Queensland, disappeared. It transpired that he went to NSW. A death for Philip Zahnleiter age 60 was found there.
