some people have queried from time to time, the points system on this site

I believe it probably originated as an incentive for folk to write journals and, as all info on these journals go straight to google, they will be og great help to others trying to find their ancestors

the Missing Journals query asked why a discrepancy in the number of points and the number of journals

Scott replied ... "I wouldn't put too much into the points as they currently stand. I believe, in fact, that there is a problem with the point calculating system and it is simply inaccurate.

I need to get it working again, or do something completely different to highlight the top members (as has been suggested to me by others)" ...

My points discrepancy can be explained by the fact that I always hold a number of journals in "Draft" and work on them until I post them for the public to read
They have been given points but are not on show ..
The number of journals varies as to how many I have, at the moment it is 15 but I have had up to 30 (90 missing points !!!)
