A C Strahle and His Son John Jacob Strahle
Two headstones are located in our community with those names listed. A.C. Strahle was reportedly born on October 28, 1836 and died on January 1, 1882 from injuries in an wagon accident. His son, John Jacob was born on March 6, 1876 and died on August 25, 1878 (cause unknown). The headstone memorials are on private property in Lakeway, Texas; however, land granted to A.C. Strahle is located about 5-miles south of the reported burial site. Not really confirmed that the remains are actually beneath the headstones (memorials). Reportedly (local newspaper-Austin-Statesman), the murder of a local postmaster a few years later occurred due to the death of A.C. in the wagon accident. Much of this folklore comes from local family stories passed down over the years. Most curious is that A.C. is buried so far from the land he owned (about 160 acres).

I saw this and I thought maybe I could help, however i did find that a.c. Strahle died Jan 9, 1881. but I also found that you can find the graves of the father and son on Find a grave. A.C. Strahle is find a grave memorial # is 29140307 and the son's grave is 29140260. I also found that you can research this on google and put in A hill County Paradise? Western Travis Co. and its Early settlers. I can give you some of it, The story goes like this.

More Violence was to take its toll on the Lohman family although this time the perpetrators were not indians or bushwhackers, Henry Lohman believed in education and since there was no school close to his house, he hired a teacher for his young children, Karl Reinke not only to teach his children but also live with the family. Karl soon fell in love with Emma one of the daughters. The romance grew and karl and emma were married. On Dec. 23, 1883 when Karl was returning form a trip to austin he was shot off his wagon and killed. Years later, karl and Emma's daughter Anna gave another version of the murder to the Austin American Statesman. Between 1875 and 1882 her parents owned a store and post office in the area known as flint rock in what is now Lakeway. The store was also a polling place for elections. It was a all day affair with beer being served for refreshments. A man named A.C. Strahle went to the store to vote and got drunk. on his way home, his wagon turned over going down Hurst creek hill and strahle was severely hurt he later died. Mrs strahle hated reinke over the drinking death of her husband. She later married a julius steep & talked him into even the score. Steep went to reinke house and asked for karl. Mrs reinke told steep that karl and a Mr. Exner were cutting wood out back behind their house. Steep sneaked up behind the 2 men and shot reinke twice once in the knee and once in the chest reinke died instantly without knowing who shot him. Steep was soon caught by the sheriff and given a trail & sentenced to 30 years in the penitentiary. He received a pardon after serving only 15 years. he later moved to galveston and died in the 1900 flood.
You can read this online in google and also put in the Austin Genealogical Society/strahle cemetery. His wife was named nancy A.C. strahle- I could not find what year did she died. But I imagine that she is buried in the same cemetery, maybe in an unmark grave.
