I have found TROVE a fantastic source of information. This is a site where you can search newspapers, find information that could be in books, and you can get pictures of people.

I love Trove! I have spent many a happy hour or three reading through old newspapers. The down side is it is so easy to get distracted!

Hi Merly,

I know what you mean just reading about what was happening as early as 1837 in Australia is so interesting. I have even come accross full coroners inquests into deaths, thesw can be very detailed. You can even get copies of the news articles.
