I have heard there may be a booklet on "PEOPLE WHO ARE WANTED FOR HAVING JUMPED SHIP" in Australia or Tasmania or something similiar. OR am I wrong again ???. jamesjohnson.
The Police Gazette's had lists of 'convict' absconders also the nsw Gazette published lists. As for people jumping ship I doubt anyone really knows a number especially during the gold rush. Ships layed idle in the harbours because the crew had chased the gold, sometimes the captain went with them. You see it wasn't illegal to enter the country back then. Our borders were open to all. If you have a name I will do a search for you.
