Akin IN Mcminn County Tenn

I would like to know of others who are researching their Akin ancestors in McMinn County, TN and surrounding areas. My gggGrandfather, John D. Akin, was born around 1790-95 in North Carolina, and married Ellender (Eleanor) Bond around 1813 in Mississippi. The next occurrence I have of him is on the 1830 and 1840 McMinn Co. census. I hope to find some connection between John and other Akins who were living in surrounding counties at the same time.
