Alice Brookfield Hand of Lancashire Liverpool After 1871 UK Census
Looking for information about my GG grandmother born Ormskirk in 1840. She appears to have cohabitated with Frederick Hand, they have 5 children then it looks like she leaves Frederick and children. Frederick appears to have the children then marries Nannie Frances Calcutt, he soon learns his first wife Helen Parker Watt Hand whom he has separated from and believes is dead, has a death notice in the paper stating Frederick as her husband. Hence Frederick ends up in court and is sentenced to 5 years goal for Bigamy.
Would love to find out what happened to Alice Brookfield, she did have a child named Richard Brookfield as a single woman and does not state who Richards father is. they all appear to have lived in and around Lancashire Liverpool
Is this the correct Alice Brookfield. (Aughton (near Ormskirk), Lancashire, England)

Sorry no Photos not related in any way.
Frederick Hand Married Helen Parker Watt after John Watt died! so I am now following James Watt(son of John) born 1840, he lives in Birkenhead he becomes an apprentice pawnbroker for Cothier & Jerrettte, He marries Anne Jane Watt in approx. 1880's they have 7 children . James Watt dies in 1902 leaving everything to Anne she carries on pawnbroker business along side most of the children . Just wondering does anyone know of this pawn brokerage and as to whether the Watt family are still in the Birkenhead area to this day.
Alice Hand was my GG grandmother, She married Frederick hand and had at least 4 surviving children with him. Ellen b1865, Frances b1868, Sarah b1869 and Alexander b1870 (my g grandfather) from what I can gather Alice already had her son Richard Brookfield when she married Frederick. They also had another child Adeline Hand who must have passed at a young age because by 1881 neither Alice or Adeline are on the census. Richard was still with the family in Sandfield Road, Liscard. Alexander Hand married an Elizabeth Roberts and had 4 children, Fred, Alice, Jim and Lillian (my grandmother)who all lived on the Wirral and went on to have children of their own. There was always talk in the family of the Hand family being owed money from Lord Leverhulme over land or property I'm not sure which or where the story originates.
