Alma is my great grandmother. Census records say that she was b in Limerick, but her age changes with each census (she was older than her husband) the only other thing I know about her family is that her father was George Bond and, in 1874 on Alma's marriage certificate he gave his occupation as 'soldier'.

Alma's address at time of marriage was in St. Jude's, Islington, London. She was a midwife, and my late father said that she was called 'Polly'.

1874 she married Tom Robinson at the Mexborough Church. He was a railway worker, but went on to become a unionist and strong Labour Party protagonist, working with Ramsey McDonald in forming the first Labour Govt. Alma and Tom worked together in the Balby - Mexborough area before moving to Stalybridge, Cheshire where he became the first Labour councillor for Stalybridge.

One further clue, my late father told me that as a child he remembered parcels coming from Ireland at birthdays, Easter and Christmas. The senders names was either Lindon or Linton.

I'd appreciate any help in finding Alma/Polly Bond.
