BRUCE O'Shields was my friend and a cousin of mine I will never forget the O'Sheal O'Shields Reunion. What a great time we all had at the Reunion Bruce wanted me to walk over the church cemetery with him. So we walked Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. I could tell that Bruce was tired I said do you want to go back he said no Charles. I have something I want you to see look at that tombstone Charles I looked on one side was O'Sheal and the other side was O'Shields. And Bruce said they are brothers. Bruce O'Shields and myself talked about many things about the church' and the bible and we talked about God. Bruce O'Shields loved his wife and his children and grandchildren. Thank you Bruce for being my friend I know it has been ten years since you left but i' can say you are missed. I always felt at home at Bruce and [Martie] O'Shields home. Alton Bruce O'Shields Sr. 65' husband of Ernestine Pillsbury [Martie] O'Shields of 549 Cherokee trail died Wednesday January 5' 2005 at his residence. Mr. O'Shields was a native of Pickens County son of Sula Chastain O'Shields of Easley. And the late Oscar Ronald O'Shields. He was a former employee with J.P. Stevens white horse plant' was the owner of Bruce O'Shields Auto Parts and Towing in Dacusville' was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. And was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. O'Shields was very instrumental in obtaining land for the Dacusville Middle School. Surviving in addiotion to his wife and mother are sons. Alton Bruce O'Shields Jr. wife' Teresa of Shelby North Carolina. William Allen O'Shields of California' and Don Preston O'Shields and wife Amanda of Anderson' brothers Robert C. O'Shields Clyde O'Shields and Jerry W. O'Shields all of Easley. Sisters Bonnie O. Allison. Brenda Alverson and Judy Chapman all of Easley' and five grandchildren. Brantley Nigcle4 O'Shields Alton Bruce O'Shields 111. Alyssa Lynn O'Shields Cali Allana Marie O'Shields and Autumm McKenzie O'Shields. He was predeceased by four brothers Ronald O'Shields' Kenneth O'Shields Cecil O'Shields and Tommy O'Shields Ray O'Shields. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home Powdersville Road. Where the family will recive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight and will be placed in the church at 10;30 a.m. Saturday.
