Anthony a farmer and Eleanor left Torquay, England sailing from Plymouth aboard "Fatima" a vessel of 521 tons and carrying 234 passangers on 8th February 1850. With sons William aged 4 and Anthony aged 2 they survived the trip arriving Adelaide 10th June 1850. They established themselves in Bowden and in 1851 Anthony along with Samuel Coombe and Mr. Rimes traveled by bullock dray to Bendigo gold diggings leaving their wives and families behind. The men found gold.
Anthony purchased 80 acres at Virginia and the family attended church firstly at Elim and then after that church closed, the bible christian church at Virginia.
In 1854 Anthony had "Calvengrove" built, one of the first stone homes in the district.
Anthony and Eleanor are burried in the Zoar Cemetery.South Australia.
I have some data on the children, grand children and G grand children and so on in Australia but would like some help with the roots in the UK.
