I'd say so If he's the one who in the 1940s had the iconic General Gordon Hotel in Homebush,Queensland which is south of Mackay , The hotel just last month celebrated it's 125 years anniversary and hundreds of people turned up to party. The Siddles had the General Gordon for more than 30 years.
I'm related to the pub so to speak. No, I'm not related I spent quite a number of years in Queensland and have relatives in Mackay, so I know the area and it's history pretty well.

Interesting! I'll see if I can link them. Our line is from Jonathan Siddle b. Circa Oct 24 1835 Arkengarthdale, Yorshire. d. July 12 1901 in Wanganui NZ m. Jane Hall. Migrated to NZ 1879. Not far from Easington. Jonathan sold seeds, fruit & veggies and had a pub. His wife made jam & chutney from the left overs. He was injured in the mines and lost both legs prior to migrating but had a very full life and was highly respected. His father was Reuben Siddle b. 1800. m. to Sarah Woodward. Further back, the spelling of the name changes to Siddale, Sydell and Siddell. My dad used 'Siddell'. Pretty sure all the variations are related anyway from that region. (Dales Yorshiremen!). Thanks, Wendy
