Arnault Ancestry Arnold

someone has suggested I write a journal. so I have. I have a lot of info to give to this wonderful free site . no one likes being deactivated .

The first known " Arnaults" lived on the southern border of switzerland + were known for their banditry in italy with their followers. from their they travelled on the only northern trail of northern switzerland , down the rhine river + settled in Denmark. They took up arms against the King of Denmark + were expelled . They went up the coast past sweden + settled on the western coast of Norway. They became vikings. after settling down for 20 odd years the went on a aid to Ireland . However their viking ship as taking in water badly + they came ashore at Bangor on the east of Northern Ireland. From their they made their way to aplace they called " Bangor " on the west coast of Wales . They still had the name " Arnault " They fought their way across wales to a border town called Monmouth . THis border town has the welch / english border running down the middle of it even today. the english side being called Monmouth shire. Many of the welch people of this town use to go to work across the road on the english side .One of the family descendants of the original " Arnault's " did so + were there for over 20 years before going back to Wales . while their, their " Arnult " sur name became the english version, especially their children . This was the beginning of the Surname "Arnold "
