Could be the same PERRY.
I have noticed that given names recorded in the BDMs
were sometimes recorded in reverse.

This side of the family is such a mess. I think that Raymond Perry is the correct name. His mother would have died when he was 6.
It is possible that he died in Queensland

DEATH. Spelling as per VDI.

Name: Hilda Catherine PERRY.
Died: 1967 Prahran, Victoria.
Age: 65 years.
Father: Ernes TOWNSEND.

This appears to be the death of the Hilda TOWNSEND married to Raymond PERRY in the marriage above.

Going back through my records this appears to be the birth of Hilda.

We crossed lines and posted comments at the same time Steve.

I'm thinking this has something to do with your Ellen MAHONY, mother of Annie born in 1894.

steve74

Yes,
Ellen Mahony died in 1909 after giving birth to my grandfather. After this the family was split up

steve74

I think this could be his burial
Southport general Lawn Cemetery

Raymond Edmond Perry
Died 20th December 1990, aged 87 years
also
Edith May Perry
Died 17th May 1980, aged 68 years

This could be a second marriage

steve74

Thanks again Tonkin,
I found Hilda Catherine Perry living in Boolarra, Victoria with father in law Edmund Henry Perry (father of Raymond Edmond Perry)
This confirms one marriage. I didnt think he ever married

Also found a death for a son;
Raymond Edward Perry
Born Abt 1924
Died Victoria 1978

steve74

Raymond Edward Perry
born 11th March 1924
died 12 March 1978 (according to Springvale cemetery Records)

Married Avice Yvonne ????

Avice Yvonne Perry
born 24 May 1919

Thanks Steve.
Always good to know research time was not wasted.

This may be the Avice mentioned above.

I think this confirms the Raymond PERRY buried at Springvale is the correct one.

Raymond must have married Avice RING nee LUKE sometime after 1942.

tonkin

Janilye sure knows how to find them.

Well done Janilye.

janilye

I went back to 1977 and he was living in 12 Frank St., Labrador also at the same address was Edith May Perry.
Before that in 1970 he and Edith May were living at 5 Kookaburra St., Altona. His occupation listed as a 'driver'

So greatful to you both for the information. Thank you
Looks like Raymond Edward Perry was living at 19 Stanhill Street Cranbourne

tonkin

I'm working with the Victorian records for another two hours today.
Do you need any more look ups?

janilye

Thanks Tonkin.
On this Roll and the 1936 and 1937 Rolls, he is a driver living at Ballarat Road Maidstone with Hilda Catherine

Raymond and Hilda move to Oakleigh in 1942.

Then in 1949 he is living with Edith May at 105 Miller St., Thornbury.
They move to Altona and remain there till moving to Labrador Queensland after the 1972 Roll.

steve74

Thanks again.
The only one that I can think of is the marriage of Grace Perry and Norman McCarthy
Have no information on Norman McCarthy
Grace Perry was born Balwyn Vic 1908 died 1994 Victoria
I believe Norman must have died after 1994 as there is no mention of him at Fawkner Cemetery. Grace's ashes have been removed

janilye

When was he in Cranbourne Steve? I don't see him there.
I see his brother Alfred Albert (a baker) living with Jessie Gertrude in Cranbourne Rd., in 1931. On this same Roll there are 2 Edward Perry's one at Pt. Nepean and one at Tooradin but Raymond Edward Howard Perry (used full name on every roll) was then on Ballarat Rd.,

Raymond Edward Perry of Cranbourne is the son of Raymond Edmond Howard Perry

  • MCCARTHUR.

You wanted MCCARTHY so this may not be the correct marriage.

steve74

I think that you may be right. Maybe thats why I cant find any information

tonkin

If that's the case this birth may come in handy.

janilye

Both still living at the same address in 1980

steve74

Hi Janilye
Thank you. I have posted another journal for "Look Ups" for Grace Ella Perry
I have not verified her information, a fatal mistake. So I am going to start again.
Do you mind if I use this information there? As all the Raymond Perry's are confusing. I also have an uncle Raymond Perry who lives in Cranbourne, Vic.
The funny thing is, that Raymond Edward Perry (son of Raymond edmond Howard Perry) is his Cousin.
Apparently there is a park in Cranbourne, called Ray Perry Park. I think this is named after Raymond Edward Perry for establishing the Cranbourne Citzens Advice Centre. All the people in his retirement village stir him up about this

janilye

Use what you need Steve and if I can help at all just ask.
Yes I did see all the Perry's and it's very hard to distinguish them without address's and/or a spouse. That's how I found McArthur, by looking for one living with a 'Grace', fortunately he was the only one.
