Wow! This is great! Douglas valentine Beattie was my grandfather who married Florence Emma Best and had my father Graham Douglas Beattie. DVB's mother was Hermina Elizabeth Beattie and her eldest son was George who emigrated to Tenerife. So that's my dad's uncle george! Cool!
George, Edward, Jack, Kenneth, Colin, Steven and Douglas Beattie were the brothers who fought in WW2. We have a pic of all seven that was in the newspaper. Do you have that one? My nan was from the Everton area of Liverpool, well she supports the football team there anyway. She is definitely from Liverpool though. She moved to Kenilworth near Coventry a few years ago 2005 I think.

My grandad also lives there along with his relatives. My great grandfather was a blacksmith - James Beattie.
William John Beattie was born in Knotty Ash in 1856 was married to Eliza Johnston and lived in Prince Edward Street from 1880-1900. He was carter . I researched many of the Beatties who lived in West Derby and Everton and traced many of them back to Dumfriesshire in Scotland.
