Hi many thanks William Daughter Marrion was my gg Grandmother her son also William married Agnes Moffat Edgar from Dunscore Dumfriesshire and from 1900 to 1952 had the village shop in Balmaclellan Kirkcudbrightshire. Hamilton Biggar and son James who I know was in the police in Castle Douglas in the 1990s are the family connection I would like more info on.Many thanks for your help.

Cannot find Marion in 1871 census under the name Biggar, did she marry? On scotlands people there is 1 marriage of a Marion Biggar between 1861 and 1871

Hi Marrion did not marry but had 2 children William McQueen Biggar b 1868 d 1952 and Ellan died in infancy,I have a certificate No 69494 state that William McQueen is the Father of William McQueen Biggar ( my grandfather ), in the resister of Marriages at the Closburn in the County of Dumfries. Marrion Died in 1872 headstone is in the old churchyard in Balmaclellan Kirkcudbrightshire with her father William and Lydia and Brother William who Died in 1860 are on the headstone erected by son James. Thanks for your help I have located George Withorn Laenence Biggar b 1879 father John David Andrew Biggar and his son Alan. Have spoken to Alan on the phone help me a lot. thanks again will be in touch if no when I stuck again. Derek
