My family is Acadian. Grandfather William Guillaume Blanchard was born in Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada; grandmother Elizabeth Parise was born in the neighboring parish of Paquetteville.

The 1891 Census of Canada reveals the families of Daniel and Francoise (Poirier) Blanchard and Francois and Philomen (Blanchard) Parisee, the parents of William Guillaume Blanchard and Elizabeth Parisee, were next door neighbors. Young Guillaume was 12, and Elizabeth was 6. Guillaume and Elizabeth eventually married in Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada, on June 17, 1907. In 1925, after the birth of their tenth and last child, they moved their family to the unincorporated town of Rumford Falls, Maine, USA.

I've information on direct ancestors of my paternal grandparents, beginning with Jean Blanchard and Radegonde Lambert in the early seventeenth century. If you are a branch of this tree, or otherwise interested, I would welcome opportunity to work together in our mutual endeavor.

My best wishes to you for a productive and rewarding experience finding your roots and branches.
