I am researching my family tree and meeting with great difficulty in finding evidence of John's birth in 1596. I have found evidence of his marriage to Anne on 15 March 1631. Prima facie John's parents were Thomas Brereton 1555-1607 and Mary Brereton 1560-1600 both of whom I have found evidence of burials. Thomas parents were supposedly Randle Brereton abt 1515-1596 and Elizabeth Brereton nee Orton abt 1518 - 15?? Randle's father was supposedly Owen Brereton abt 1485-1534, the illegitimate son supposedly of Sir Randle Brereton II & Joan Holford, who Randle later married.

John Brereton 1596-1657 leads to Richard Brereton 1635-1677 (spouse Elizabeth Kendricke abt 1635-16??), Jonathon Brereton 1657-1683 (spouse Maria Sandforde), Sandford Brereton 1685-1722 and Sandford 1711-1779. I am happy to provide full information after John to include spouses, children and siblings up to the end of our common family tree.

I would appreciate any information leading up to John's birth.

I thought I could help and I don't know what all you have done, but I went to google to see if he had been researched before and I knew that would tell me what I needed to know. If you can, go through google and put in John brereton born 1596-married to Anne Gardener. That what I did. I did find the Brereton's from Wybunbury and I also found the Brereton Family of Cheshire. You can also go to www.cheshirebreretons.tribalpages.com.
If you need anything else just let me know and I will try to help in anyway I can. smith41

Hi Anne,

I have evidence of the marriage of John & Anne (two sources) and thanks to the Lancashire link you have provided I might have found (on Findmypast) John's baptism (16 Jan 1597 at Leigh, Lancs) under the name Brewerton (or Bradshaw). Bradshaw possibly his mother's maiden name or the clergy?I have evidence of John's death and his parents death (mother Marie). I will update you hopefully shortly. My email address is downeasteralexa@live.co.uk

I will send you evidence copies via your email address. The source of most of the information is CPRdb-Version v3.6 - 10 June 2011. This is a project where all available Cheshire Parish records were logged and is freely accessible. Regards John

Anne,

I have just noticed that the dates for Jonathon are incorrect. These should, of course, read: Jonathon Brereton (1663-1701). Regards John.
