Yes NC is North Carolina. I have traces this James Carolina Howard, it is not my James Howard. This James Carolina ended up in Mississippi. I believe my James Howard was the one married in Lebanon , Wilson Co., Tennessee in 1816, he was in Henry County, Tennessee by 1819 when his son William Obadiah Howard was born, then he moved to Weakley Co. Tennessee by 1823 where 10 other children were born James was buried in Henry Co. Tennessee. His wife was Elizabeth also born in North Carolina. William Obadiah Howard is my great grandfather.
