Brummelow Brumbelow Brummerloh

One of my ancestors was an Amy Brummelow from North Carolina; I'm trying to find out if she were Indian or not. An elderly lady from NC told me it was an Indian name. However, I saw the name Brummerloh in Zwolle, Louisiana, I think, and I thought then that maybe it was a German name.
