Looking for information regarding the Bundy Family. My Second Great Grandmother is Mary Lucreta Bundy Collins and her Father is William Griffin Bundy and Mother is Drucilla Addington. I was told as a kid that we have Native American in our family. Can anyone help with this. Told that we come from the Cherokee Tribe but now there is other family members that say we belong to the Blackfoot Tribe. Told that the Native American is on the Bundy Line. Can anyone with information point me in the right direction. Thanks

Caleb Bundy-9 (John-8, Caleb-7, William-6, Nicholas-5, William-4, William-3, Christopher-2, Robert);
was born on 12 May 1721 in Pasquotank, North Carolina. He died on 6 Jan 1785 in Pasquotank, North Carolina.

"Caleb Bundy, whom records indicate was the third son of John and Elizabeth Keaton Bundy, owned and operated a farm near Little River Bridge, Pasquotank County, North Carolina.

In 1745, Caleb requested Friend's permission to marry Elizabeth Henby but was denied permission for some unpublished reason. Nevertheless, the two were married in December and their first child was born four months later in April 1746. They named their first born son Dempsey. Five children were born to Caleb and Elizabeth.

In 1762, the Bundy family came down with some sickness that killed Elizabeth and all of her children, except Dempsey. Elizabeth died November 5, 1762. After Elizabeth's death, before a year was gone by, Caleb once again defied his Friend's standards by asking permission to marry again. Caleb and Miriam Morgan (one authority states that her maiden name was Nicholson) were married in 1763 and quickly began their family of nine children. The married couple suffered condemnation by their meeting group for having married too soon after Elizabeth's death, but they were accepted back "in unity." Caleb died in 1785.

The children of Caleb and Miriam were:
Benjamin, Caleb, John, Jeremiah, James, Hannah, Moses, Samuel, and Christopher.

Many of the descendants of the fourteen children, three daughters and eleven sons, of Caleb Bundy were part of the stream of emigrants that left the Tidewater region and sought homes in the more favorable uplands of North Carolina in Guilford County, Randolph County, and surrounding sections, from whence they followed along the streams of North Carolina to their sources and crossed over to the trails following rivers and buffalo trails leading westward".
