Can anyone tell my as to where to look for information in
Montreal,Quebec. We are looking for information on the Pomaville Family, and hope to get up to Montreal three times. If antone can tell my how to set this up it would be a big help.Do we need to call someone to set up a time?
We live in Vermont and it's only around two hours or so to drive it.
Thanks,

You could make some phone calls to the Public library in Quebec and ask them for suggestions and also ask them where you can view The Drouin Collection of the Quebec Vital and Church records (1621-1967)
I know you will need to make a time to see anyone connected with family history records. If you give us a name and approximate date maybe we can help you out perhaps set you on the right path. We might actually save you a trip.
Janilye, Thank you for the help. When the time comes I will get a hold of you.Once more yhanks for the help.

You're welcome. It's rare to see a Pomaville out of the state of Michigan.
Well,it's like this,I'm adopted.I was born in Detroit. My Father was Alexander M. Pomaville and my mother was Francse P. Beine. They never did married each othed ,but did marry latter on in life.My adoption search took me over ten yrars to complete becuse you did everything by phone or wright to find things. All that I had to start with was my dob and some place in Mich. Not much to go on,(lol).
Now I have 4 brothers and 1 sister. We have gone to see them a number of times. Most of them live in Rosevills.
My life started in Mich,Moved to Oregon at age of 1 1/2.Portlane and Eugene,Went it to the USMC from 1968 Till 1975.Iwas in suny Viet - Nan 24 pluse months.Came home lived at Camp PEN Calif, got married in Dec 28 1974,moved to O'side got out and we moved to Vermont.
Well lady hope your day is full of fun.

Hello mmoran,
plenty of info (about 21 pages) on the ancestry.com message board where others are also looking for Pomaville
things like:
... "I think what happened is that in the 1860 Census, the ages of Susan and Maxim were switched. Susan, age 55 in 1850, would be age 65\66 in 1860. Maxim (Maxine), age 21 in 1850, would be age 31\32 in 1860. Joseph, Maxim's father, probably died before the 1860 Census and Maxim could have inherited the land, making him the head of the household.
Further evidence is in the 1870 Census (same area) Maxim Pumaville is now age 42, and is married to Mary, age 20. Also listed is son John, age 2 and daughter Angel, 10 months.
in the 1880 Census, Maxeime (Thank God for soundex) Pumaville is now age 53, Mary is 30, John is 12, Angelline is 10 and other children are: Henry, age 5, Mary, age 4 and David age 1.
I happen to be researching this family as well, as I descend from a possible brother of Maxim's, Joseph, Jr. So far I have found the following spellings for the surname: Pomainville, Pommanville, Pomanville, Pomaville, Pomerville, Pomavilla,
Pommaville, Pomneville, Pomarille, Pomaritle, Pominville, Pumerville, Pumaville, and Puminville" ...
good luck with your search
Sorry Michael,
I see you already have a family tree on that site so you know all this info anyway :)
... except for your mother's side which we may be able to help you with, will see what I can do
