I think SAcKRIDER was once the name SACKREITER. I did read somewhere (have to think about it) The SACKREITER family migrated from Baden-Wurtemburg, Germany and settled in Utica, Minnesota. The migration would have been the 1840s, because there was a potato blight in Germany which caused this mass migration of many Germans to America, the German Govt. paid their fares. If you agree with me, I suggest you look around Minnesota, specifically Utica. Otherwise let me know and we can start again. Jan

Let's start again.I just had a read up about this. There was also a Johann Christian SACKENRUTER and he was born also in Wurtemberg, Germany back in 1640 and he migrated to Plobsheim,Alsace, France, and he had a son in 1685 who went by the name Sackrider. Now His son Christian SACKRIDER b:1713 in Alsace migrated to America on the 11 September 1731 on board the 'Brittania' From Rotterdam. He lived in Duchess N Y had about 7 children. I'm not too familiar with America so have little knowlege of your country but it appears all these children and their families ended up in Delaware and seem to have died there. I found this cemetery where they all ended up. Sackrider Cemetery, Kortright, Delaware, New York, So they started in Germany and ended up in Sackrider cemetery. Are you confused!!! I've got names and dates but, boy, it's 11.30pm. get back to me tomorrow, Jan
P.S found some others that went to Canada from Alsace. I'll look for aussie SACKRIDERS tomorrow (love that name)
