Canty Cantwell Spanish American War Dead Wall

Hitting dead walls researching a grandparent named Canty. I suspect he was born in London, UK, but registered in Dublin. Daughter listed his birthplace as England on marriage license. I cannot find online a Pennsylvania death certificate. I did find a baptismal record with his name on his daughter's record. However, I cannot find her PA birth certificate. Her death obit refers to NJ.
I even checked 1908 earthquake records, but found it was an 8 year old Edward Canty that died there. I looked through 1898 military records, since daughter was born according to baptismal record in 1898. nothing. nothing in ww1 either.
