Hi my name is Kim Jones im trying to find my family tree, I no the 1st Carson to Australia was Samuel Carson who settlted in Blayney NSW in 1867 where he lived with his daughter ?. My mums great grand pop was Thomas Carson my mums mum was Eileen Carson who had two sisters Kit and Ida not shore if they were Carsons or Horsleys. my mum and her family grew up around Orange and surrounds.

The Samuel Carson you are refering to was a soldier with the 77th Regt. of Foot joining in Ballymena on 6 March 54. He was born in County Antrim, Ireland and had a very colourful history fighting in the Crimea, landing in Sydney in 1857 then joined the 12th and went to fight in the Maori wars in New Zealand, but I suppose you know that since you mention that he settled in Blayney in 1867.

Thank you Noggin and also thank you Janilye the information that I have received from you both is right on target. this is a harded job than I thought, I still have contact with relatives Horselys and Marshalls in Orange N.S.W, unfortunately the only information I can seem to find is the article above and is unsure where to go from here.
